Hi, I'm Kathy, and if there's one thing that's always been true about me, it's that I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember.
After a rewarding corporate communications career, I decided to purse my second act: helping people better understand and communicate with their dogs. While the career path changed, my passion didn't - dogs have always been a central part of my life.
My journey into professional dog training began with years of volunteering at local animal shelters where I had the priviledge of helping dogs on their path to finding forever homes. Those experiences reinforced something I believe deeply: every dog is an individual, and the foundation of every successful relationship is built on trust, communication and understanding .
I completed my professional dog trainer education through CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, one of the country's leading dog trainer education programs, and earned my Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) certification in 2023. My approach to training is rooted in the science of how dogs learn and focuses on humane, relationship-based methods that help dogs and their people succeed together.
Today, I specialize in personalized day training sessions conducted in my home. During these sessions, I work directly with your dog in a structured, supportive environment that encourages learning, builds confidence and develops practical skills for everyday life. This approach provides focused training and individualized attention, while giving pet parents the support they need to maintain success at home.
I am a proud dog mom to Carmela who is around 9-10 years old. She has taught me so much and reminds me every day why I chose this profession: every dog is an individual, every relationship matters, and learning should always be built on trust and connection.
My goal is simple: to help you better understand your dog, strengthen your bond and create a happier life together.
Kathy’s K-9 Coaching was established in 2023 to help pet parents navigate life with their canine companions. You can feel confident in my abilities to help you build a strong relationship with your dog and learn to communicate with each other.
