Hi, I’m Kathy and a lifelong dog lover
describes me perfectly!
After a 25 year corporate communications career, I'm now in my second act or helping people communicate with their dogs.
My passion and love for dogs began at an early age, and there hasn’t been a time in my life where dogs were not a part of it. I have spent many years volunteering at animal shelters to help those dogs find their forever families. An important part of this process is building a bond and trust with your dog to develop a strong relationship.
This is where my passion intersects with being a dog trainer. I help pet parents build that special bond with their dogs so that they learn how to communicate and be the fair, confident and humane leader that their dog expects of them.
My background includes studying the science of how dogs learn, and applying that to individual dogs through classes and 1:1 training. I've been so fortunate to work at St. Hubert's Animal Center in Madison, NJ since 2021 assisting experienced trainers to gain experience working with a variety of dogs. I also work as a drop-off day trainer at St. Hubert's.
Kathy’s K-9 Coaching was established in 2023 to help pet parents navigate life with their canine companions. You can feel confident in my abilities to help you build a strong relationship with your dog and learn to communicate with each other.
